Show Utah Births Higher v Second Year; Deaths Increase I For the second consecutive year, births in Utah have at tained a new record total Dr" George A. Spendlove, 'state health commissioner, reported recently. Births in 1952 totaled 24,239 for an increase of 6.1 per 'cent over the previous record hieh ( in 1951. These figures are sub-ject sub-ject to some corrections, J w Wright, director of vital stafe ties, reported. Deaths also increased with 5494 in 1952, compared with 5204 during 1951. Infant deaths totaled 589, compared with 565 for the previous year. Fatal accidens took a total of 592 lives in 1952. compared with 518 in 1951. The number of marriages continues con-tinues a downward dip from 7090 in 1950 to 6750 in 1952 , The number of divorces has in- f creased from 2031 in 1950 to 2263 in 1952. |
