In the Junior division the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Fourth ward still clings to a slim lead over Neola and Montwel, Mont-wel, while the Second ward is out front in the Senior division by two games over their nearest rival, Myton, with an 8-0 rating compared to 7-2. The Fourth ward kids lost their first game last Wednesday when Neola hung a 22-18 loss on them. In fact Neola and Montwel have won their last two games and offer the greatest threat to the leadership of the Fourth warders. Top scores have been turned in by Jerris Lamb, who scored 22 points last week in one game in the Junior loop. Roosevelt Second looks like the team to beat in the Senior division, divis-ion, with Myton and Neola the most likely teams to upset their apple cart. Avalon is another strong team which has been playing play-ing some top basketball and could ease into the title picture. Heavy scorers include Tom Hacking of Neola, who hit 20 and 22 in a pair of games, and Russell Gingell Gin-gell had a couple of pretty good nights, scoring 19 and 22. Young, of Avalon, also came through with 22 in one contest. |
