Show Final Payment On Playground Paving Is Made According to John H. Blaine, principal of the Roosevelt Elementary Elemen-tary School, the playground paving pav-ing project that took place last summer is now completed and the file closed. Three local organizations, organiza-tions, the Commercial Club, the Chamber of Commerce and Ki-wanis Ki-wanis club have presented checks to the school board in payment of a pladged $1000 contributions to a project that cost approximately approxi-mately $3400.' According to Mr. Blaine, when the idea was first conceived by him and his faculty, he approached approach-ed various organizations for their opinions and a pledge of money to help raise $1000. The school board said they'd go ahead with the paving if $1000 could be raised locally. Kiwanis and the Chamber of Commerce were the only two clubs that pledged financial assistance, as-sistance, in addition to the Commercial Com-mercial Club who said they'd make up the difference to guarantee guar-antee the $1000 and the project. The Commercial Club donated $875, Chamber of Commerce $75 and Kiwanis $50. |
