Show '.'1 DEATHS !' BESSIE SEGOOSE REDCAP FT. DUCHESNE Funeral services were held in the Mof-fitt Mof-fitt LDS ward chapel last Saturday, Sat-urday, Jan. 3. for Be'ssie Se-goose Se-goose Redcap, 89, who died of a heart ailment in the Vernal hospital Dec. 31. The Uintah Basin Ba-sin Mission, .Church of Jesuj Christ of Latter-Day Saints, waj in charge of the funeral with Morgan Merkley, district president, pres-ident, conducting. The exact date of the birth of Mrs Redcap is not known, but she was born where the city of Denver now stands at least 89 years ago. Mfmbers ot the Ute tribe who have known her a long time, maintain she was nearly 100 years old when i she died. She has been living with a nephew, Harvey Mianna. who is her only known survivor. She was married to Georg3 Segoose, and following his death she married Frank Redcap. She moved to Meeker as a young girl, later coming to the Basin and settling at Altonah. Speakers at the funeral were James E.- Bacon, Indian Mission president, and Stella Chapoose LaRose. Music was supplied by a double duet from the Maeser ward composed of Leah Alpan-alp, Alpan-alp, Rena Rogers, Eula Hall and Clara Hall, who sang three num bers. The invocation was offered by Arthur D. Curtis; benediction by Thomas Timothy and Jamei B. Harvey dedicated the grave Services were under the direction di-rection of the Olpin Mortuary and burial was in the Fort Duchesne Du-chesne cemetery. |
