Show 77ms Week's RECIPE... Busy housewives are always looking for good one-dish meals, which are easily prepared. Once you try the following oabbage rolls, you will make them often during the winter. CABBAGE ROLLS (Makes 9 to 12 rolls) Vz lb. pork sausage V lb. ground beef Vz cup raw rice 1 tsp. salt ' Vt tsp. pepper V2 tsp. savory salt 1 tsp. finely chopped onion Mix the above ingredients well and shape into 9 to 12 oblong ob-long balls, depending on size of roll desired. j Wilt,, cabbage leaves in hot water a few , minutes so they will wrap around balls easily. Wrap meat mixture loosely in cabbage leaf and Din with tooth, pick (wrapping loosely allows for rice to expand). Put in heavy kettle with tight lid and add 1 can tomato soup, diluted with 1 can water. Cook slowly for about 2V2 hours or until meat are rice are done. May be served with catsup if desired. |
