Show Traffic Light To Guide Us Ail If you hadn't noticed work started early this week on erecting of poles on the corners of Main and Lagoon Street from which will soon be hung a semi-phore traffic light that will culminate the efforts of various organizations, organiza-tions, individuals and this paper for several years. . . There were a lot of letters written, personal visits to the powers that be on Capitol Hill in Salt Lake Citv. and several surveys with little effect, ef-fect, but last fall when Gov -J. Bracken Lee made a trip to the Basin campaigning for votes, he saw first hand why we had all been hollering for a traffic light he w&s here when the Basin all came to town to shop and take care of other business affair?. As the governor stood along side of our mayor waiting for a chance to dodge across the street, he turned to Mayer McLea with the comment . . "Jack, I see now why Roosevelt Roose-velt has been crvin for q traffic light, and you'll get it." . . . And. so you will all soon have a light to guide vou on Lagoon and Main. |
