Show My Marriage Es Announced By Bride's Mother A belated announcement is made this week by Mr and Mrs. Henry Nelson, of Ioka, of the marriage of their daughter, Sally, Sal-ly, to Mr. Wayne E. Swett, of Vernal. The impressive double ring ceremony was held at the home of the bride's parents in Ioka, on July 10, with Bishop Niles Haslem, of the Ashley ward, Vernal, officiating. The lovely bride chose a gown of ivory slipper satin, covered cov-ered with white chantily lace I and nylon net. The full gather-! ed skirt fell into a softly scolloped scol-loped hemline with long fitted sleeves tapering to a point at the wrists. The bridesmaids, wearing pastel colored ballerina length formals, were Mrs. Max-ine Max-ine Green, sister of the bride; Miss Edna Swett, the groom's sister; Miss Bettie March and Mrs. Dona Rae Nelson. Rulon Dean, of Vernal, acted as best man. Following the ceremony, a buffet luncheon was served to fifty close friends and relatives. A three-tiered wedding cake adorned with pink roses and topped with a miniature bride and groom formed the table centerpiece. On July 23 a reception was held in the Ioka ward chapel honoring the young couple. In the receiving line besides the bride and groom was the bride's parents, and the groom's mother, Mrs. Aleine Swett, the bridesmaids and best man. The gift room was in charge of Mrs. Cleo McDonald, Mrs. Vernice McDonald and Mrs. Ol-len Ol-len Timothy, assisted by Sheila McDonald and Linda Lee Nelson. Nel-son. Mrs. Margaret Lloyd and Mrs. Edna Drollinger directed the serving, assisted by Miss Connie Timothy and Miss Pat Simmons. Bill Nelson acted as master of ceremonies during the evening, eve-ning, which featured songs by Miss Ludeen Anderson, and a trio by Georgia, Ludeen and Beverly Anderson. The new Mrs. Swett is a graduate grad-uate from Roosevelt High School, class of '51. and until the time of her marriage was employed at the local J. C. Penney Pen-ney Co. store. Mr. Swett graduated grad-uated from Uintah High. Vernal and at present is employed with the Mtn. States Telephone Co. They will make their home in Vernal. |
