Show Girls Receive Awards For Work Sunday evening at Sacrament meeting, the LDS Girls' program pro-gram was given prominence and the eligible girls received awards. The program consisted of a story, by Ann Lister; a talk on prayer, by Revella Wall; a song, by the Beehive girls; a talk, by Gayle Case, on the benefits ben-efits of the LDS Program; song, by the Mia Maids; and a talk, by Lois Sadler, on The Responsibilities Respon-sibilities of an LDS Girl. Individual awards were earned earn-ed by Josephine Wall, Carolyn Dastrup, Gwen Chapman. Fay Jean Boswell, Cheryl Evans, Lois Sadler, Gayle Case, Sheila Evans and leaders awards were earned by Mrs. Wm. Evans and Mrs. Evan Bennion. There were 16 girls present out of the 24 in the age group. Mr. and Mrs. F. Earl Case and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Case went to Vernal Wednesday evening, eve-ning, Aug. 26, to attend a party complimenting Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Johnson on their 50th wedding anniversary. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Goodrich. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Goodrich, of Roosevelt, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Young on Friday. Mrs. Johnny Lambert took her sister, Mrs. Harold Nielsen, and her two children into Salt Lake City for her return home to Crescent City, California, after af-ter a two weeks' visit, on Friday of last week. While in Salt Lake the Lamberts took their son, Denny, to the doctor. Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Powell and family moved last Saturday to Lehi, where Mr. Powell has a job. Mrs. Glen Ames was in Lay-ton Lay-ton Saturday and Sunday visiting visit-ing Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Wall. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stevenson Steven-son were in Salt Lake on business busi-ness Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Swasey: (nee Bernice Boswell), are mak-j ing their home at present in Salt Lake City. They were married mar-ried on Monday, Aug. 24, in Elko, El-ko, Nevada. They spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Vol-ney Vol-ney Boswell and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Reay and family, of Whiterocks, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fay Reay. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dastrup, Das-trup, Keith Luke and Curtis Dastrup were in Salt Lake City, Saturday and Sunday to attend the Bench family reunion at Lagoon, La-goon, at which Curtis sang a solo. Miss Sheila Evans returned from a two weeks' stay in Salt Lake City, last Saturday, with her father, who went out to attend at-tend the teachers' meeting on Friday. Sheila has been staying with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rogers, after the birth of their daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Denver and family have moved into their new home, which was built by Ned Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. Ted M. Dahl and son were overnight guests with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hansen Han-sen last Sunday and Monday. They are living in Springville at the present time. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lunt were in Mt. Emmons over the weekend to get some of their belongings and see some of their friends before moving to Henderson, Hen-derson, Nevada, where they both will take teaching position for next year. Mr. and Mrs. George Peder-son Peder-son and family, of Manti, visited with Mr. and Mrs. LaFarge Dastrup Das-trup and family last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Rust are receiving cangratulations on the birth of their son, last Friday, at the Roosevelt Hospital. |
