Show D.U.P, District Convention Set For Roosevelt The annual Daughters of the Utah Pioneers District Convention Conven-tion will convene in Roosevelt at 10:00 A. M., on Saturday, September 12, with Uintah and Duchesne Counties participating, according to Thelma D. Nye, Duchesne County President. Mrs. Leora Jacobe, Vernal, is Uintah County President. Special guest at the convention conven-tion will be President Kate B. Carter, of the State Central Company. At her request, Duchesne Duch-esne and Uintah Counties will participate in both morning and afternoon sessions of the convention, con-vention, instead of Duchesne participating in the morning session and Uintah in the afternoon after-noon session as originally planned. plan-ned. President Carter has informed in-formed the county presidents she will have a complete set of supplies which can be purchased by the camps and members at the convention. She also states she will have memorial building build-ing souvenir plates for each sale at $1.00 each if purchased in sets of 6 by the camps. The individual cost could be paid by members desiring one of the plates. All camp captains are requested to tell their members of this offer. Roosevelt Camp, under the direction of Captain Ora Hol-gate. Hol-gate. will be the hostess camp, and will serve a luncheon at a minimum charge to all attending attend-ing the convention. Duchesne County will elect new officers during the convention. conven-tion. Present officers are Thelma Thel-ma D. Neola, Ne-ola, organist, and Florence Niel-son, Niel-son, Roosevelt, chorister. Uintah County will dedicate a marker the day prior to the District Convention, with President Pres-ident Carter attending the dedication. ded-ication. Tabiona 4-Hers and other individuals in-dividuals are busy preparing entries for exhibit at the Duchesne Du-chesne County Fair and we hope to see all of you there in person, too. |
