Show "SOCIETY" CONTRACT CLUB MEETS AT FERRON RESIDENCE Members of the Contract Club met Saturday evening, Aug. 29, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ferron. The occasion honored hon-ored Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mar-imon, Mar-imon, of Whiterocks, who have left to make their home in Salt Lake City. Dinner was served to guests, seated at an "L" shaped table. A beautiful bouquet of mixed fall flowers at the apex of the "L" completed the table arrangement. ar-rangement. Bridge formed the diversion following dinner and was enjoyed en-joyed by Mr. and Mrs. George Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ferron, Mr. Wm. H. Ruppel, Jr., Mrs. Irene Fretwell, Mrs. J. O. Orser. Miss Alice Todd, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Harmston, Dr. and Mrs. Paul Stringham. and Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett. The prize was won by Mr. and Mrs. Harmston. Bridge prizes were won by Mrs. Owen, Mrs. Zimmerman and Mrs. Wilkins. "BACK TO SCHOOL" THEME OF PARTY "Back to School", was- the theme of a party, sponsored by the Wonmen's Missionary Society Soci-ety of the Roosevelt Baptist Church for the Baptist young people of the Uintah Basin, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., in the Roosevelt Baptist Church. Cakes representing the old-fashioned old-fashioned and modern school buildings were the center of attraction in the school room decorations. Upon arrival from Vernal. Roosevelt and Gusher students were registered and placed in proper classes by Mrs. Nolan Beaird. Spt. J. B. Rounds was an enthusiastic speaker at the opening assembly. School songs and yells prepared the way for the efficient Teacher, Mrs. James Butcher to' conduct the classes, and most entertaining recess games for Ailsa and Jack Adams, Joan Walker, Judy Hall, Marjorie Scurlock, Kay Peyton, Joyce Beaird, Betty Young, Leta Haddock, Joan Creech, Sharon Swain. Marian Shaw, Wade and Bernice McCormick, Mildred and Sanford Butcher, Dorthy Dillman, Elsie May and Nolan Beaird, Harold . and Opal Dillman, Dil-lman, Neal Domgaard and Robert Rob-ert Underwood. |
