Show 1 State Road Starts Ikw Building To Repair Equipment Construction began Aug. 25 by the I.G.S. Construction Co. of Salt Lake City on a maintenance mainten-ance and repair shop building for the Utah State Road Commission Com-mission on the south entrance to Roosevelt, near the Phillips "66" bulk plant. According to information released re-leased to this paper Wednesday, the building which will cost $30,506, is to be 120 x 38 feet, will be constructed out of cinder cin-der blocks. It will be used to' repair re-pair and maintain road equipment equip-ment used in the Uintah Basin, which here-to-fore was transported trans-ported to the district shops located lo-cated in American Fork. . Pat Duncan is supervisor of the State Road Department in the area and will direct activities at the new building which is anticipated will be ready for use about Nov. 25. Glade BVimhall, partner in the I G.S. Construction Co., is here directing the construction. They are the company which received re-ceived the contracts for erecting erect-ing the several telephone building build-ing for the Uintah Basin Telephone Tele-phone Co. According to Mayor J. V. McLea the city will house its street and water equipment in the sheds on the old state road property. pro-perty. Another announcement made by Mayor McLea is to the effect ef-fect that through the cooperation coopera-tion of the Uintah Freight Lines, who are building a new ( freight yard and building south of the city, Phillips "66," who recently completed a new bulk plant, the state road and Roosevelt Roose-velt City, water will soon be piped to the City Cemetery. Each of these companies desired to connect with the city water line and agreed to share costs with the city in extending the line to that area. |
