Show Violet Gentry Bertha Angus New Bride Is Honored Friday Mrs. Ellen Timothy and Mrs. Edna Drollinger complimented Mrs. Lawrence Odekirk with a lovely wedding shower held in the Ioka ward hall Friday afternoon. after-noon. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sweat were Vernal visitors Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Washburn and children, of Spanish Fork, were weekend visitors of Wesley's mother, Mrs. Olive Sorenson. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Womack, of Roosevelt, were callers at the O. A. Dart farm Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. William Nalley, I of Urban, Colorado, are visiting their daughter, Jean, and Mrs. Nalley's sisters, Mrs. Tuff Reay and Mrs. Dean Washburn. Mrs. Smith Mecham and son, Ray, attended the wedding reception recep-tion at Myton last week for Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Redden. Mrs. Redden Red-den will be remembered as Arva Tanner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tanner of Myton. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones entertained en-tertained Friday night in honor of the birthdays of Tim Gentry and Bud Whitmore. The guest list included Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones of Hancock Cove, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Whitmore of Roosevelt, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Gentry of Ioka. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Spencer and children, of Salt Lake City, visited Richard's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Spencer, and other relatives rel-atives and friends over the weekend. CLUB MEETS Mrs. Vern Edwards entertained the members of the Thursday club at her home April 12. The day was spent in quilting. Those enjoying en-joying the day were Mrs. Olive Sorenson. Mrs. Matty Mortensen, Mrs. Jo Yergensen, Mrs. Gladys Dart, Mrs. Sarah Brokaw and Mrs. Edith Gentry. Club guests were Mrs. Keith Mortensen of Myton, Mrs. Golden Butterworth of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Edna Jenkins Jen-kins of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Foote and children were Salt Lake visitors recently. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones and daughter were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones of Hancock Cove, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Robison and Mrs. Bliss Lott of Myton, spent Wednesday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Senor Mortensen. Mr. and Mrs. James Lloyd went to Vernal, Friday, to visit Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lemon and to get acquainted with their new grandson. grand-son. Mrs. Thelma Cook and son, Lynn, of Bluebell, visited here Sunday with Mrs. Cook's mother and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lloyd received re-ceived word of a new granddaughter, grand-daughter, who will make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Gam Lloyd at Midvale. The little Miss was bora April 14 and weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. Mrs. Winona Cloward was in Salt Lake the past week receiving receiv-ing medical treatment. Joshua Timothy went Tuesday for a check-up at the Veterans' Hospital. He returned Saturday. Elaine Richens returned home Saturday after spending 2 days in the Roosevelt Hospital under observation. ob-servation. Boy Scouts Bart Killian, Gary Zobell, Jim Drollinger, Alton D. Percival and Mardel Brinkerhoff. with Scoutmaster Paul Foote, had a barbeque and camped out Friday Fri-day night on the Foote ranch. Saturday Sat-urday they went to Springville for swimming tests. SUNDAY PROGRAM . The program Sunday in Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting were Seminary Declamation talks by John Percival Perci-val and Virginia Reay and the Seminary teacher, Don Sorenson of Roosevelt. Charles Ray Richens was graduated grad-uated from Primary. Mrs. Sorenson Soren-son and small "daughter accompanied accompan-ied her husband and were visitors vis-itors at meeting. |
