Show News Briefs From Neighboring . . . i NEOLA Lecta Horrocks Scouts Achieve Boy Scouts of this ward, under the leadership of Scoutmaster Merrill Dutson, are reaping the reward of their recent magazine selling activities. Fifty-nine subscriptions sub-scriptions to "Cappers Monthly" have been placed in local homes. For their endeavors, the boys received re-ceived thirty books, eight pen and pencil sets and a ladies' wrist watch. The books are to be placed in the school library, while chances chan-ces on the other articles have been sold. Proceeds will be added to the Scout fund. Drawings will take place this Thursday at the . ward show. Vernal visitors last Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Crozier, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Crozier, Mrs. Alvan Ferguson and Mrs. William Crozier. Visiting at the John A. Olsen and Clarence Brown homes last Sunday were former Neola residents, resi-dents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Gailey. The family now reside in Union. Sunday visitors at the Elizabeth Prescott home were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Elmer and three daughters, daugh-ters, of Ogden. ATTEND MEETING The following members of the Opti-Mrs. Club attended a banquet ban-quet for Federated Clubs, which was held in Vernal last Wednesday Wednes-day evening: Barbara Jensen, Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Harrison, Sara Nelson, La-Rene La-Rene Bastian. Dahlia Dutson, Gus-sie Gus-sie Yack, Freida Phillips and Ka-Dee Ka-Dee Edrington. Mrs. Joe Malnar made a trip to Salt Lake City last week for medical med-ical attention. Shirley Cloward, who is employed em-ployed in Provo, spent the weekend week-end here with her parents. Lawrence Luck was sustained last Sunday as activity counselor in the YMMIA, replacing Jack Leavitt, who is employed in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Duncan and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Duncan, who have been living in Salt Lake City, returned home last week to begin farming operations. LOCAL TALENT SHOW HELPS BUILDING FUND Under the efficient leadership of the Relief Society, a Talent show was presented in the ward chapel last Wednesday. Local talent, tal-ent, augmented by some from neighboring communities, provided an evening of enjoyable entertainment. entertain-ment. The proceeds were turned to the stake building fund. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mitchell and family, of Murray, spent the weekend here visiting relatives and attending to business matters. D. F. Mitchell, who was a patient pa-tient at the Roosevelt Hospital last week, has returned to his home. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ludlow returned re-turned to their home in California after visiting here with Mrs. Sadie Blank and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Riggle. Floyd Horrocks, who recently returned from Japan, is visiting here at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Horrocks. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Anderton, Sr. of Tooele were here last weekend week-end on a business trip. Since selling their farm in Neola Mr. and Mrs. Don Jensen have been tourning various localities in search of a new home. Recently they journeyed through parts of Idaho, Oregon and California. Mrs. Arietta Williams, of Duchesne, Du-chesne, visited the local school last Friday. |
