Show jDelmar Hamblin lOffilontwel To Fill Mission MONTWEL A farewell testimonial testi-monial and social honoring Elder Delmar Hamblin was held at -the Montwel ward chapel on Monday, April 11, prior to his departure to the Southwest Indian Mission as a missionary for the Church of ! Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he will labor the next two ' years. A son of Bishop James E. Hamblin, Hamb-lin, who was recently released as bishop of the Montwel ward, Del-I Del-I mar has been active in the church all his life. He is a graduate of I Union High School and Roosevelt j Seminary and attended the Utah ! State Agricultural College one ! year. For the past six months he I has been employed at Shelton, Washington, where he was secretary sec-retary in the YMMIA, a position he had held in his own ward. A program consisting of talks by Hollis G. Hullinger, president, of the Roosevelt stake, Elder Hamblin, and his parents; vocal solo by Barbara Loranger, jokes by Kent Boren and David Hunt; accordion solo, Sharon Keel; violin vio-lin solo, Beth Allred; tap dancing numbers, Sherrie Drager and Car-ma Car-ma Woodward; readings by Arvil Brown, Ina Lee Shaw and Mrs. Pat Duncan,. was enjoyed. A plate supper was sold and pies auctioned auction-ed off to raise funds for support of the missionary. Dancing to Tal's orchestra completed the evening. eve-ning. Delmar entered the Mission Home on April 13, and departed April 20 for his field of labor, which has headquarters at Gallup, New Mexico. |
