Show Raodlett Viola Jensen Speech Festival The MIA held their Speech Festival Fes-tival Sunday evening,' under the direction of Ethel Durfee, speech director. Narrators were: Mr. and Mrs. William T. Chandler, Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Lewis, Carolyn Stoddard, Stod-dard, Richard Durfee and LaRue Pickup. Speakers were Hannah Harris, Millie Stevens of Roosevelt Roose-velt and Deanna Durfee. The Singing Mothers sang, "The I Morning Breaks, The Shadows ! Flee," under the direction of Car-I Car-I olyn Lewis and Leah Chandler accompanied ac-companied at the piano; Richard Durfee played a trumpet solo, "O, My Father," Carolyn Stoddard accompanied ac-companied at the piano, and Lula Dudley sang a solo, "Teach Me To Pray," with Carolyn Stoddard accompanying. Monday all children who will enter school in the fall attended school at Avalon in the afternoon. after-noon. Miss Beatrice Stringham came and showed film's to the youngsters and their parents. RECEIVES INJURIES Fahy Durfee has spent the last month at Pipe Springs doing range development work with the Indians In-dians there. He was injured Tuesday Tues-day and Mrs. Durfee went down Friday and brought him back Saturday. Sat-urday. He is receiving treatment at the Roosevelt Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bolton are the proud parents of a baby boy born Monday evening, April 11 at the Roosevelt Hospital. Mrs. Bolton Bol-ton and baby son were brought to the home of Mrs. Bolton's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Durfee Saturday morning. J. P. Stevens, of Salt Lake City, spent Wednesday, visiting at the J. E. Jensen home. The Lions Club met Thursday evening at the Ralph Taylor home. 1 The Singing Mothers met on 1 Thursday evening at the chapel for singing practice. SON IS MARRIED Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Jprgensen received word that their son, Kent had married Maridene Iverson, of Fillmore, Utah, March 26, 1955.
