Never in the long history of mankind's struggle for human rights has the issue been so clearly clear-ly defined or so perilously perched. perch-ed. Everyone has a vital part to play in this struggle. The Fifth War Loan is an opportunity for every American to show his or her worthiness in this supreme moment. .... .. I know the people of our state will not be found wanting. Surely Sure-ly we could not face our fighting men when they return home from the bloody battle if we did not give every ounce of our energy en-ergy and every penny of our income in-come beyond bare living costs to the common cause. I urge every resident of this State to measure the extent of your War Bond-buying by the extent ex-tent of the effort of a single soldier, or flier, or sailor in the invasion. As our country faces the zero hour, our armed forces march forward ready to die if need be to defend our way of life. The least we can ao is to make me Fifth War Loan the biggest contribution con-tribution we have made thus far to the war effort. We must do this War Bond buying job as individuals. in-dividuals. Whoever you are, whatever you are, ask yourself this question: ques-tion: "What have I done today that some mother's son should die for me tonight"? Then decide whether to put an extra $100 or $200 or more into War Bonds today. |
