Show Douglas Jensen CLEARFIELD Douglas Jensen, Jen-sen, 67, of 134 South 350 East, died Wednesday, March 23, 1988, at his home of complications following surgery. He was born March 12, 1921, in Preston, Ida., a son of Joseph W. and Sarah S. Chadwick Jensen. He married Lila M. Henderson Feb. 28, 1945, in the Logan LDS Temple. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1973 after 33 years of service, ser-vice, as an aircraft mechanic supervisor. super-visor. He was reared and educated in Preston, Ida., and had lived in Clearfield since 1949. He att?n','', public, schools in Preston and graduated from Preston Pre-ston High School. He had taken several aircraft mechanic courses from the U.S. Air Force while employed em-ployed at Hill Air Force Base. He was a member of the Clearfield Clear-field 1st LDS Ward where he had been serving as a High Priest. He had served in the Elders quorum presidency and was the church building coordinator. He was also active in Scouting. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Asiatic Theater. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed remodeling remod-eling homes and mechanics. Surviving are his widow of Clearfield, three sons and one daughter, Douglas Leon Jensen, Hooper; Dennis Ray Jensen, Smithfield; Ricky Layne Jensen, Roy; Diana Lyn Jensen Taylor, Harris ville; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Gerald C. Jensen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gene (Reah J.) Hocking, Mackey, Ida. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park in Ogden, where miltary honors hon-ors were accorded by the American Amer-ican Legion Honor Guard. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 26 at the Clearfield Clear-field 1st Ward chapel. Bishop David Monson officiated. Program was as follows: family prayer, Russell Rus-sell Mendenhall; prelude and post-hide post-hide music, Ann Ross; musical selection, "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine" and "Somewhere My Love," "Let Me Call You Sweetheart," Janet Ostler, acc. Nancy Lundquist; invocation, Gerald Jensen; obituary reading, Diana Lyn; remarks, Bishop David Monson; speaker, Donald D. Randall Ran-dall and Dennis Ray Jensen; benediction, be-nediction, Ricky Layne Jensen. Pallbearers were Darwin Ward, Brent C. Taylor, Daniel S. Glenn, Douglas Leon Jensen, Cleve P. Henderson and Ivan H. Henderson. Hender-son. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Jensen, Ben Jensen, James Jensen and Clearfield 1st Ward High Priests. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary. |
