Show Vikiing Views :" By CORI LEISHMAN : Happy Halloween Vikes!! i : THIS PAST week, our great : cross-country team placed second in state-competition. We feel this is : a great addition to their past record : and realize the hard work that went : into this title. Thank you crosscountry cross-country team for your addition to a successful year and thanks coach DuBois for never having a losing team! ; : On Thursday, Oct. 25 the Viewmont View-mont choral dept. put on a magnificent magnifi-cent show. There is a very large number of Vikings in the department depart-ment this year and they are first class all the way. Those of you who did not attend this concert missed out on an excellent show. We 'thank Miss McGuire for her time and the whole department for their talents. ON FRIDAY the 26th the varsity football team had a great win over the Bountiful Braves. The final score was 7-0. This win gives us a place in Region playoffs which will be this Friday. Tune in to announcements for times, places and prices. The cheerleaders sponsored a great pep rally on Friday and contributed con-tributed to the spirit. They put a great amount of time and energy into this activity and we appreciate them very much. ON SATURDAY, Oct. 27, many of our students participated in the ACT test. As nerve racking as it was, we are glad it's over and wish everybody the best of luck on final scores. Nov. 1, the first-rate volleyball team will travel to Highland to battle bat-tle it out with the Rams at 4. Then on Nov. 6 the team welcomes the Davis Darts to our home court. The team is great this year and enjoys your support at these games. Everybody Ev-erybody come and kick-back and cheer for the volleyball team. ON SATURDAY, Oct. 3, the science sci-ence department will travel to BYU to participate in classes and activities and represent us. This will be a fun activity for all who have chosen to participate. As most of you know, we are trying to organize a U-club at Viewmont. This club will be an extension ex-tension of the Pep Club. We hope to obtain permission to have this "Pep Club" allowed on the football foot-ball field at home games and continue con-tinue our traditional half-time activities. acti-vities. The purpose of the U-club is to promote spirit and pride and involve in-volve as many of you as are interested. in-terested. There is a $4 fee for an official U-Club t-shirt and card. This is going to be a lot of fun and the great thing is, everybody can join. Parents you too can be a part of the U-club at Viewmont. You may apply for membership and pay your $4 club dues in Mr. Beck's room. HAVE A happy and safe Halloween. |
