Show Overnight Parking Restrictions In Farmington Begin Thursday, Nov. 1 By KATHRYN JENNINGS Farmington City has announced that cars parked on the streets after Nov. I, will be ticketed, between the hours of 1-7 a.m. This will remain re-main in force until April 30. This is necessary so streets can be cleared of snow during those hours. THE CITY personnel also commend com-mend residents on careful driving in school zones, slowing to the 20 mile per hour law, for this has helped the safety record of the city. Skateboard riding on city streets has also been brought to the attention atten-tion of city officials. Skate riding can be hazardous and the officials would appreciate help from parents pa-rents and concerned citizens in curbing this practice. FARMINGTON city is constantly constant-ly trying to improve resident services, ser-vices, both in time and money. In regard to leaf pickup, the leaves must be raked in easily accessible piles. In the older downtown area, the leaves will probably be pickeu up weekly on Thursday or Friday. Residents are also requested to make efforts for weed control by plowing under, the weeds on vacant lots and corners, or controlling con-trolling them in some way. against fires and the insect infestation next spring. ; THE GOAL of city officials is to Improve your city government so citizen input is important to the city officials. Suggestions on how to improve the local government is requested, re-quested, so any constructive input is welcomed by the city personnel. call or write your city officials. Anyone interested in being a volunteer fireman in the city, should contact firechief Don Ball or call in at the city offices. THE CITY presently has four certified police officers and six reserve re-serve officers. Chief Val Morton heads the department with Jay Ber-ger, Ber-ger, Robb Child and Ben Whicker. The department has recently solved a major burglary and vandalism van-dalism problem throughout the community. In addition to their regular duties, the officers will pre- sent crime prevention education to both schools and to public groups. Local artists are being asked to exhibit their paintings in the city offices, with Juanita Thomas being the first artist to be featured in the new building.
