Show Conference for Youth Held Sunday Night In connection with Timpanogos Stake Quarterly Conference the MIA Youth Conference was held Sunday evening at 7:30 in the stake house. Y. W. M. I. A. President Mrs. Wanda Blackhurst conducted and made welcoming' remarks to the large audience. The conf erence opened with the congreg-ation singing "Onward Christian Soldiers," directed by Stake MIA Chorister Chester Stone; accompanist was Duella Jakeman. Invocation was offered by David Jeppson. Presentation of awards was made by Walter Reimschiissel as follows, in M Men basketball: Stake Champions, Senior M-Men, M-Men, Fourth Ward; Junior M-Men Manila ; Sportsmanship, Junior M Men, Grove Ward. Sportsmanship, Senior M Men, Third Ward. Golden Gleaner Awards were presented by Maurine Holdaway to Maxine Allred, 1st Ward; JoAnn Brady, 1st ward; Patricia Seely, Seventh Ward. A vocal trio, Charlotte Jeppson, Merium Robb, Mary Jane Roberts, Rob-erts, sang "Let Us All Press On," accompanied by JoAnn Radmall. Talks under supervision of JoAnn Brady were Gneat Men Pray, Kent' Larson; Modesty is the Best Policy, Nadine Nielsen, and Nothing Worth Having- 13 Free, David Holdaway. Speakers were interspersed by a vooal trio, Let Each Man Leam to Know Himself. Mrs. Blackhurst made closing1 remarks of appreciation. Closing number was "Come Hail the Cause of Zions Youth" Benediction was pronounced by Bonnie Barton. |
