Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS Miss Beth Patillo of Salt Lake City a school of education student stu-dent at University of Utah, is spending this week as an "observer" "obser-ver" in Iowa Hall's Fifth grade. ESN! Mrs. Jennie Allred, school lunch manager, at Central, spent Monday Mon-day in Salt Lake City attending a convention of Utah school lunch managers. ESN Spring is the time of living and growing- things. In harmony with the spirit of the season, the Fifth grade students at Central are bringing in a collection of small animals. So far, snakes, ,polly-wogs, ,polly-wogs, and white mice have entered enter-ed the classrooms. The purpose of the project is to gain uniformation about how animals live, grow and develop. The effects of various types of food will also be studied as a part of natural science learning. ESN Tuesday morning students and teachers at Grovecrest welcomed students from the BYU, who will spend the remainder of the year with the school as student teachers. teach-ers. This quarter, Carol Ronnow, Las Vegas, .will be working with Mrs. Jaynes; Mrs. Patricia Math-eny Math-eny of Sunland, California, will work with Mrs. Briggs and Miss Olsen in kindergarten; Miss Dor-ene Dor-ene Moesser of Afton, Wyoming, will be in kindergarten and first grade with Mrs Hartshorn. Miss Deon Eldredge of the University Uni-versity of Utah will be observing in various grades for one week. ESN Students of the second grade at Grovecrest are looking forward for-ward to their grade program to be presented this evening, Thursday, Thurs-day, March 31 in the school auditorium audi-torium at 7:30. All interested patrons pa-trons are invited to the progrgam. Teachers are Sondra Evans and Vera Wag-staff. In the absenca.of Mrs. Wag-staff, Mrs. Lola Taylor has been assisting in the Second grade. We appreciate her fine cooperation and the contribution she maes to our school program. |
