Show Convention Report Given by Jehovah's Witness The first circuit convention of Jehovah's Witnesses ever to be held in Bountiful, came to a successful suc-cessful conclusion Sunday, March 27 as 1,428 enthusiastic ministers minis-ters and their goodwill companions compan-ions packed the Bountiful High School auditorium. Matthew M. Kolar, district supervisor, su-pervisor, delivering the keynote Bible discourse "Finding Peace in This Troubled World" said, "Worry, anxiety and fear destroy peace of mind, making it difficult to find peace in this troubled world. The pursuit of pleasure, the resorting to tranquilizers or 'peace of mind' pills, the amassing amass-ing of great wealth and even man-made organizations have failed to bring about everlasting peace." Continued Kolar "Lasting peace can come only by God's power, through 'the Kingdom for which Jesus taught his followers to pray. Real peace can be found now by those who seek and find peace with God by studying the Bible and faithfully and daily applying ap-plying its righteous principles." Kolar concluded by stating, "The New World society of Jehovah's Je-hovah's Witnesses offer living proof that peace can be found now. Wherever they assemble, they demonstrate that peace, happiness and joy fill ifcheir hearts. There is no despondency here over ov-er troubles that fill the world, but, rather, Jehovah's Witnesses invite you to 'lift your heads up' and rejoice in happiness with them. Through God's Kingdom it is possible to enjoy peace now and everlastingly in His promised worry-free new world." Gene Nelson, presiding rninister of the American Fork congregation, congrega-tion, said that many valuable and practical points were gained which will be applied by the local lo-cal ministers in their ministerial activity. |
