Show MothersStudyClub Meets with Mrs. B. H. Adams Mothers Study Club held their last gathering with Mi-s. Burton H. Adams, and the club collect was read by Mrs. Kate Jacobs. The club members decided to make a contribution to the Pine-hill Pine-hill treatment, which Is a home to rehabilitate habitual delinquents delin-quents in Utah County. Mrs. Adams granddaughter Susan Su-san gave a piano selection. May Jensen introduced Estelle Fenton and Luoile Walker who presented the program on Education Edu-cation in Utah and Pleasant Grove. Miss Fenton spoke about early days in education in Utah. The Mormons were in Utah only three weeks when there was a school started and taught by Mary Jane Bilworth. In 1854 there were 226 schools and 300 teachers. In 1888 there were 99 denominational schools, and six were Mormon schools. Mrs. Walker told about the schools in Pleasant Grove. She said in 1852 the first school district dis-trict was organized. She told all about the schools in Pleasant Grove up to 'the present day. Mrs. Adams was assisted by her granddaughter Susan in serving a tray luncheon. Special guests were Mrs. Don Mack Dalton and club members present were Mrs. Earl Beck, Miss Estelle Fenton, Mrs. Thomas Fenton, Mrs. C. A. Gamett, Mrs. L. P. Harvey, Mrs. Kate Jacobs, Mrs. Wesley Jense, Mrs. Irwin Jensen, Mrs. J. M. Macfarlane, Mrs. Frank Newman,' Mrs. Ford M. Paulson, Mrs. M. D. Radmall, Mrs. Harry Richards, Mrs. Harold S. Walker, Mrs. A. P. Warnick, Mrs. Lacy White and Mrs. Oral Wright. |
