Show Ora W. Thorne Is Hostess to the Cadmus Club Ora W. Thorne was hostess to members of the Cadmus Club at her home on Jan. 14th at the first meting of the new year. Members voted to assist in the March of Dimes campaign. Geneva Gibson gave a most interesting in-teresting discussion on "What's New," ranging from Keith Ed-dington's Ed-dington's painting to the new in foods, gardening and meat stamps also our own city accepting the zoning ordinance. Rhea H. Robinson occupied the remainder of the evening showing and explaining colored slides which she had taken of interesting places in Germany where she has spent the past five years. Also she displayed carved wooden dolls that were representative of the various types of people in Germany. Ger-many. She ended the illustrated lecture by having Sharlene end Gayle Thorne play a recording of the Vienese Waltz as she showed slides of Vienna. Delicious refreshments were served ser-ved by the hostess, assiscted by her two daughters. The next meeting will be Jan. 28th at the home of Dorace Rogers, Rog-ers, when Maymetta Johnson and Faye Belliston will review the lives of Lily Ponds, the singer, and Pavlova, the dancer. |
