Show Wesley Jense Is Attending Meeting Of Canners Ass'n. Wesley Jense, past president of the Utah Canners Association, left Tuesday morning to attend the annual convention of the National Canners Association at Atlantic City, New Jersey. Mr. Jense, who is general manager man-ager of the Pleasant Grove Canning Can-ning Co., with plants at Pleasant Grove, Orem and Provo, completed his year as president of the Utah canners two weeks ago. He was succeeded by William Eddington, Eddington Canning Company, of Springville. Mr. Jense was accompanied to Atlantic City by Herbert D. Lan-des Lan-des Jr., sales manager of the Pleasant Grove Canning Company, and other Landes interests. According to Dr. Quintin Anderson, And-erson, food chemist for the company, com-pany, the first commercial batch of maraschino cherries, produced with local cherries, is ready for marketing. Dr. Anderson said that the local product compares favorably favor-ably with any outside marashino cherries he has ever tasted. They go under the trade name of "Alpine Maid." |
