Show P. G. High To Have An Art Exhibit Early In May The Pleasant Grove High School Art project, under the direction of Harold Woolston, head of the department, will culimate in the first two weeks of May with an exhibit of Utah artists, it was announced Thursday by Floyd S. Holm, principal. Principal Holm stated that Mr. Woolston is inviting all Utah artists to , exhibit at the high school art show next May, with the view of buying one or more outstanding oils or watercolors toward to-ward a permanent collection for the school. Students of the school held a ticket selling contest for the first offering toward getting funds for the pictures. The Pleasant Grove All-Stars and Provo Jaycees staged stag-ed a basketball game with all proceeds pro-ceeds going to the art project. Doral Woolley won the ticket-selling ticket-selling contest to the basketball game, and will receive a Woolston oil painting as a prize. Formal presentation will be made at the exhibit, Mr. Holm said. Other activities will be held in the future to raise funds for the purchase of pictures for the permanent per-manent collection. Mr. Holm said that he is lining up a trick-shot basketball artist for the next offering. |
