Show I Water For City and I State School Assured i Meeting Held With Site Commission To Sign Agreements. The controversery with the Utah Power & Light company over water from American Fork canyon was so satisfactorly worked out this week that Mayor Greenwood, Lion President Presi-dent G. R. Richards and Engineer Richards are in conference with the Utah State School site finding commission com-mission drawing up agreements so that work on the new state school might commence in the very near future. The agreements are in connection con-nection with the joint water system and other details relative to the school. The commission is anxious to complete their work and turn the Bite over to th building commission. Dr. Bealey, a U. of U. professor and president of the Social Workers of the state, touched on the new state school coming here during his Leadership talk. He said the present pres-ent appropriation for the school was sufficient to take care of 300 students. There are now from 1500 to 1700 persons per-sons in the state needing this school training. This would indicate that the $300,000 appropreation will eventually event-ually be increased or added to by some five or six times the present amount. This gives us an idea of just what the school is going to be In years to come. |
