Show Boutique was bearish on Christmas Last weekend's Christmas Bear Boutique held at the Park Meadows Racquet Club included items handmade hand-made by more than 20 local women. Organizers Jana Collins and Karlyn Glieden reported heavy sales of rag dolls, tree ornaments and wooden toys on Saturday morning. "You couldn't stir them with a stick in here, Saturday Satur-day morning," said Collins. "Sunday was a little slower because of the snowy weather." The organizers say they more than doubled their return from a similar fair held last holiday season. "The girls made as much as $400 apiece from their work," said Collins. "But the average was somewhere over $100." Those who missed this year's boutique can look forward to next year, when another homemade, handmade hand-made Christmas is planned by crafts people. |
