Show if.- ri, rt Dog bites ffifnipolice shoot dog Park City police shot and killed a dog after it had raided a rabbit pen and bit the owner of the rabbits, according ac-cording to this week's police blotter. Additionally, the blotter shows that the police department was kept busy this week with a rash of minor traffic accidents. Michael Alvey reported to the Park City Police Department Depart-ment on the night of Dec. 2 that dogs were raiding his rabbit pen. When he went to the pen to try to restrain one of the dogs he was bitten. Alvey reported that four or five of the rabbits had been killed. Park City police officers of-ficers located the dog at the bottom of Daly Avenue. According Ac-cording to the report the dog had no collar or tags. Fearing a rabid animal, the police shot and killed the dog. It was turned over to the county animal control department for a rabies test. Alvey estimated the value of the killed rabbits to be $100. On Dec. 3, Mark Abbott reported to the Park City police that $80 had been stolen from him while ..h&w.as. doing his laundry in the Main Street Laundry about two weeks ago. Abbott said he didn't report the theft at the time because he felt he could ret over the money, fiprn the person who he thought, was responsible. Police have ' questioned the individual pointed out by Abbott but have no proof of his allegation. A Carlsbad, California woman, Carolyn Bohner, reported to the police that on the morning of Dec. 6 she left her apartment at the Crescent Ridge Condominiums Con-dominiums while the maids were cleaning. When she returned three pair of earrings were missing. The maids, however, deny taking the earrings, according to the police report. The missing items are described as: one - pair of pearl earrings, one pair of opal earrings anyone pair of gold Jhoop earrings,vThe value of " the earrings is listed at $300. On Dec. 2, Jeff Scott of Salt Lake City reported to the police that his "Sport Rack" ski rack was stolen from his auto at the" resort parking , lot. Scott stated that he "parked his car on level B-2 of the underground parking a little after noon. When he returned later that afternoon, after-noon, the rack was gone. It is valued at $80. A Tulsa, Oklahoma man. Lyn Vanline, reported to the Park City police that while he was staying at the Holiday Inn a $1,000 ring and a $100 bill were stolen from him. Vanline reported that upon arrival at the Inn, he placed the ring and the bill in one of the safety deposit boxes at the hotel. On Dec. 1 the items were gone. Police are investigating the matter. Also on Dec. 1, Peter Skolmoski of Salt Lake City reported that a Minolta camera with a 50 mm lens was stolen from his car while it was parked in Swede Alley behind the Horse of a Different Dif-ferent Color restaurant. The items are valued at $300. Park City police responded respon-ded to a fire call on Dec. 3 at 36 Prospector Avenue. Tom Mcintosh reported that smoke was coming out of the fireplace when there was no fire going. Upon arrival, Park City Fire District Chief Jim Berry determined that the fire was in the wall surrounding the fireplace. ' The damage is estimated at $1,000. A Boston, Mass. man, Kenneth Ken-neth Sunshire reported on Dec. 5 that he lost his camera in the vicinity of the Saddle Condominiums. He said the camera was believed to be on the roof of the car when a "U" turn was t made near the Saddle. The camera is described as a black ; Nikon in a black leather case. It is valued at '$400. J Twc( hit and run incidents grace ;the police blotter this week. Park City police cited Geoffery Patterson, 470 JWoodside No. 10, with leaving the scene of an accident ac-cident after the car he was driving allegedly struck a car parked at 835 Wood-side Wood-side and owned by Mike Gloss. Patterson was apprehended, ap-prehended, the report states, when he returned to the accident. Damage to Patterson's vehicle is listed at $1,000, while the damage to the Gloss vehicle is estimated at $3,000. Dora Larson reported a hit and run to police on Dec. 2. Larson stated that she saw an auto strike her parked car in the Alpha Beta parking lot and, then leave the scene. Larson took down the license plate number. Park City police have traced that license to a local driver. Fifth Circuit Court John Darrell Foster of Heber pleaded guilty to DUI in Judge Larry Keller's Fifth District Court on Friday, Dec. 2. Foster was arrested in connection with an accident ac-cident on Utah Highway 224 near the Mt. Air Cafe on Sept. 30. He will be sentenced senten-ced on Dec. 28. Tim Eugene Naylor, 4700 Namba Way, Salt Lake City pleaded guilty to DUI in Fifth Fif-th Circuit Court on Dec. 2. Naylor was arrested on Sept. 11 on the charge of DUI and possession of a controlled substance. He will be sentenced sen-tenced on Dec. 28. Another Salt Lake City man, Morry Simpson, 533 So. Seventh East St., also pleaded guilty to DUI Friday, Dec. 2. Simpson will be sentenced on Dec. 28. |
