Show Court OKs demolition of Daly Avenue house A court order issued this week enabled the city Building Build-ing Department to derrolish a Daly Avenue building. City Building Inspector Ron Ivie said the building, at 129 Daly Ave., was threatening to fall into the Alaskan House lot to the south. Ivie said the house was abandoned, open and a fire hazard. Judge Timothy Hanson of Third District Court in Coalville issued an order last Monday for the work, which was carried out the next day. Ivie said an order last October gave owner Dale Nelson until Dec. 31 to do the work. But quick action became necessary, he said, because the building could not hold a heavy snow load. The court order gave Nelson until Dec. 31 to carry off the debris from wrecking. wreck-ing. The city is also authorized author-ized to place a lien against the property to pay for its wrecking expenses. Nelson was not availabl" for comment. Ivie said there are five other weakened buildings being processed by the city. Ivie said he expected to reach agreement with owners in those cases. |
