Show Main Street parking problems Parking on Main Street, a perennial problem, is getting worse with the weather and the holidays, according to the Historic Main Street Association which is comprised com-prised of the merchants in the area. Association President Mary Doughty said that construction workers, real estate agents and employees are parking on Main Street which "diminishes the pleasure" of legitimate customers who are trying to come to Main Street to shop. Police Chief Frank Bell said his department will be putting more emphasis on enforcing the two-hour parking limit on Main Street. Bell said, however, the department is being kept extremely busy impounding impoun-ding autos which are improperly parked for snow removal. |
