The group competed com-peted against 12 other high schools from California, Idaho and Utah, some of which had choirs of 95 students, said chorus director Sue Boyle. Voices has 16 members. "It was a great experience for them. They received a professional critique after each number and thejr also had a chance to participate in a mass choir. The girls loved it," . Boyle said. ', The weekend included several rounds of competition against larger schools and a two-hour clinic with the head of the music department of San Francisco State University, she added.
