Show Chit Chat by Bea Kummer Bad weather? We have it easy We often think we have it pretty rough when winter comes and the snow is deep. But nature can really play havoc in many ways much worse than snow. We just received a letter from Delmar and Elaine Paulk back in West Fork, Arkansas. They had just returned home after spending the past two months vacationing with friends and relatives in the West. Last week, while we were getting a lot of snow, they were hit by a tornado which in 60 seconds caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to their home and surrounding surround-ing property. Their trailer was slammed into the side of the house; their van was upside down, another car on top; their daughter's trailerwas scattered all over the place. The tornado took everything in its path. Their home used to be sumiunded by trees; now there are none. They were very fortunate no one was hurt. They will be cleaning up the mess for some time to come. Yes, I do believe I would rather have the snow. Hospital patients this past two weeks were Beth Marcellin, Ethel Sweatfield, Ruby Dingle and Charles Colvin. Charles is the son of Emma Lemmon. Kenneth and" Lynette Williams are the proud parents of an 8 pound 15 ounce baby boy bom Oct. 17 in Bountiful. He will be named Shane. The proud grandparents are Darrell and Kathryn Williams, Salt Lake City and Ronald and Mary Wilson, Bountiful. Great grandparents are Ken and Bea Kummer and Ema Williams. Great great grandparents are Martin and Lillie Knutsen, Centerville, Utah. Kenneth Kummer Jr. was very happy this year as he got his elk, a nice four point. He has hunted for many things and got his game, but this was his first elk. |
