I've talked to several people who told me they had it. The symptoms for PCC (Park City Crud) are similar to those of the flu; without going into detail, the symptoms amount to a general lousy feeling including loss of energy, queazy stomach and shaky knees. PCC can last one day or several days, depending on how you take care of yourself. Although I'm not a doctor, I think PCC can be prevented, or at the very least postponed for a while. Remember: You are most likely to catch PCC when your s body is vulnerable, so you should try not to engage in unhealthy activities. Here are a few tips: Staying out in bars until 2 a.m. especially during the week when you have to go to work the next day, is not advisable. If you absolutely must have a drink, order it "to go" like Chinese food. That way, you can have a relaxing drink at home, made by an experienced bartender, and get to bed at a reasonable hour. Of course you can always make the drink yourself, but again, like Chinese food, I think it's more exciting to have it "to go" I read an article recently which said chicken soup was a good way to fight off the flu. Actually, I've known this for years. I've eaten a lot of chicken soup in my life, and would strongly urge local restaurants to have it on their menus as a main item. You could call it the PCC Special. I'm convinced restaurants would sell out of it every day. It needs to be homemade; none of that canned stuff. Stress or boredom can lead to PCC, so you should try to avoid both as best you can. Therefore, I wouldn't advise attending a Summit County Commission meeting, unless there is something on the agenda of particular interest to you. These meetings have been known to last all day, and the subject matter is not always extremely interesting. During one meeting not long ago, a lot of attention focused on county landfills, and then the subject of sewers came up.. And while we're on that subject, if you have little or no interest in sewers, or sewage waste, or sewer pipes, or sewer plants, I wouldn't recommend going to a meeting of the Snyderville Basin Sewer Improvement Distrct. They meet every other Monday or so. and discuss in detail sewer-related subject. Sign up for a dance aerobics class at your earliest convenience. Although I don't speak from experience, I understand dance aerobics is very good for you. Quite frankly, I'm still in the process of building up courage to take dance aerobics. It looks difficult, definitely more challenging than doing the "Two Step." But I don't want to get PCC, so I'll be out there on the dance aerobics floor soon. Dance aerobics is non-stop for about an hour, and I just don't know if I can go non-stop for that long without turning into a baked casserole. But it's worth a try. Try to avoid going to Salt Lake whenever possible. Salt Lake has smog, traffic jams, stop lights (unlike Park City), and many bars where you might be tempted to stay up until 2 a.m. You have just about everything you need right here in Park City, so why go to Salt Lake and risk getting SLCC (Salt Lake City Crud)? If you work in Salt Lake, wear an oxygen mask because I've heard the symptoms for SLCC are more severe than PCC. It you're getting excited about going skiing this year, don't think about it yet because none of the resorts is open. This will lead to frustration, then anxiety, and finally depression. Depression makes your body vulnerable for PCC. Be patient. The resorts will open soon, and then you can go skiing, but only if you're heallhv.
