Well, this November will be no different, especially after the rousing start some local turkeys will give it on Nov. 3. Saturday, Nov. 3 is the date of tl. first annual Turkey Challenge Football Game, pitting The Heat (a combination of the Park City Police Department, the P.C. Fire Department, Depart-ment, the Utah Highway Patrol and the Summit County Sheriffs), led by Kurt Lovejoy, against a gang from Ryan's Pub, appropriately called Ryan's Cutthroats. The game will be a flag affair, with eight-man teams trying to outdo each other on the Park City High School football field, home of the Miners. Dr. Jack Dozier, principal of P.C.H.S., has donated the use of the field for the game. Admittance to the game will cost fans $1. But this isn't just a football game, according to Dana Williams of Ryan's, the organizer of the extravaganza. It is a whole day and night of revelry! After the game, starting at 7 p.m., there will be a dance in the Memorial Building. Yes, a dance, just like the old days. At press time the Saliva Sisters were set to perform, said Williams. Tickets are $3 and proceeds will go to the 1985 International Winter Special Olympics Olym-pics Games. As a special deal, Williams said, $10 will buy a ticket to the game, a ticket to the dance and a commemorative commemor-ative shirt (worth $7). Those tickets can be bought at Ryan's, the Chamber of CommerceConvention & Visitors Bureau, the Police Department and the Recreation Department. |
