Show County to ask for a loan This week, the Summit County Commission will begin the technical, tech-nical, but important, process of borrowing money on the budget for 1985. The commission next Tuesday will consider authorizing tax anticipation notes to make the loans. County Treasurer Bob Williams said the county will probably seek to borrow between $1 million and $2 million". It is a traditional process, he said, in which the county borrows early in its fiscal year, which runs from January to January, and pays the money back when tax money is collected in November. For 1984. the county borrowed $1.5 million. The amount of borrowing this year depends on the surplus the county will have at the end of fiscal 1984. The surplus, in turn, depends on what expenditures the county makes in the next two months. The meeting next Tuesday also will officially ask for bids from companies for issuance of the notes. Commission action is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. |
