Show Park City to host region v-bal I tourney Park City will be alive with spiking and setting Saturday as the Region 1 1 Volleyball Tournament bounces into town. And the home team, the Park City High School Miners, will be the number one seed in the tourney. The top six of the eight teams in the tournament will move on to "state" at Green River Nov. 2 and 3. Miner Coach Kari Culp said the tournament format is double elimination. A team will have to win at least three matches to take the region title. At press time the lineup for the event was not totally set, but each division of Region 11 will send four teams to Park City to compete. Early play will be split between Park City High School and the Treasure Mountain Middle School, with the final three matches to be played at the middle school. Culp said the M iners will play their first round match at 9 a. m. at Park City High School. If they win, they will play their second match at 1 :30 at P.C.H.S. If they lose the first game they will play at noon at T.M.M.S. Here are the times for the final matches. All will be played at T.M.M.S. Fourth and sixth place in Region 11 will be decided at 3 p.m., followed by third and fifth at 4:30, and ending with the championship game at 6 p.m. Culp said spectators are welcome. |
