Show Second meeting tonight on Comprehensive Plan The second town meeting on the proposed Comprehensive Plan, which will act as the land use guideline to future development in Park City, will be held tonight at 7 p.m. in the Marsac Municipal Building. The first of the evening's meetings will consider nightly rental. At 8 :30 p.m. a second meeting will discuss Old Town and the Deer Valley entry area. Unlike the first town meeting on the Comprehensive Plan, held Sept. 27, where citizens formed groups to discuss individual topics, tonight's meeting will involve everyone present on the same topic, according to City Planning Director Bill Ligety. If there are too many people in attendance to facilitate a good discussion, Ligety said smaller groups will be formed but all will discuss the same topic. Among questions to be asked at the town meeting: Should zoning be created to eliminate nightly rental from specific areas? Should neighborhood neigh-borhood sentiment be considered in approving nightly rental? What other issues should be considered on the topic of nightly rental? The Deer Valley entry area discussion will address the topics of the future of Main Street in terms of residential verses transient lodging: ; the zoning of Deer Valley Road; and whether commercial uses should be allowed on Park Avenue between Heber Avenue and 10th Street. According to Ligety, public input on these topics is very important to the outcome of the Comprehensive Plan. Another town meeting, scheduled for Nov. 1, will consider commercial locations, entry corridor uses and aesthetics, hillsides, open space and density. |
