Suzie Miles and Andrea Peterson both had point-winning dinks in the second game. Culp said the Miner serving has continued to improve, but still lacks consistency. In the first game with South Rich the Miner servers missed seven serves, while pounding only two aces. However, in the second game that situation was corrected, with only two misses compared to four aces. Thursday night at North Rich th" pressure was off, but the Park City girls still had to win to remain tied tor the region lead at the end of the regular season. The first game was no problem 15-6. but the second game showed a lapse in the Miner concentration. In that game, thanks to 11 missed Miner serves, the Mustangs pushed Park City to the limit before falling 15-13. But Culp said the lack of any effort by the Mustangs to block the Park City spikes allowed the Miners to rain terror on North Rich. Koch had 12 kills on the night, Peterson had five. Following Tuesday's win over South Rich, Park City finished off its regular season by beating North Rich Thursday night. The Miners finished with a 9-1 record, tied with South Rich. Culp said Tuesday night was a real test for Park City. It was the first game without Tori Pillinger who is at a ski racing camp in Austria, and was the first time a new 5-1 offense was tested. In the 5-1, Becky Stover becomes the sole setter on the court, whether in the front line or in the back line. Also, the Miners were hit by the flu which has been making the local rounds. On Monday, the day before the important South Rich rematch, Miner Coach Kari Culp said she didn't have even six girls at practice.
