Show Ontario annexation plan sails through public hearing A petition to annex 52 acres in Ontario Canyon drew no comment at a public hearing held May 3 during the regular meeting of the Park City Council. The land, which is owned by United Park City Mines, lies between Royal Street and Utah Highway 224. United Park hopes to build 50 condominium units in three clusters along Royal Street. In a presentation at the hearing, City Manager Arlene Loble said the staff recommended approval of the petition because the development would add little burden to the present services ser-vices provided by the city. Loble said that water development fees of $2,000 per unit, an annexation fee of $200 per unit, plus other fees for park acquisition and development would add up to $140,000 for the project. She recommended that, in lieu of the cash payments, United Park make improvements im-provements in the Judge Tunnel which is used as a culinary water source by the city. She said the value of these improvements had been estimated at $175,000. In anticipation of a possible widening of Highway High-way 224 which borders the project, the developers have agreed to give the state whatever right of way is necessary, according to Bill Boehm of the engineering firm of J.J. Johnson and Associates. |
