Show DU1 1, telephone booth 0 i Happily, the off season gives the officers of the Park City Police Department leisure to take care of such mundane calls as helping a citizen unload a jammed revolver, checking on an injured in-jured dog and letting a homeowner back into his locked house. Last week the more serious calls were few and far between. On May 3 officers of-ficers gave an intoxicated bar patron a free ride home. On May 4 they investigated a report of gunshots at a private home but found no wrongdoing. On May 5 there was a hit-and-run accident at the Alpha Beta parking lot and a report of shoplifting in the store. On May 6 officers were called to the scene of a hit-and-run accident at the Park City Ski Area parking lot. This week's police report also included an open container con-tainer violation. On May 4 Michael James Sabine of Park City was found guilty on a DUI charge. He was sentenced to six months in jail which was suspended upon payment of a $299 fine. He was also fined a $150 alcohol fee and was ordered to pay $100 to the victim restitution fund. Sabine was further required to pay $518 in property restitution to Mountain Bell for damage to a phone booth, to attend the DUI series at the Prevention Center and to work for two days in com munity service. Also on May 4 Chris A. Southerland of Midvale was found guilty on a DUI charge. He was sentenced to six months in jail which was suspended upon payment of the $299 fine. In addition, he was required to pay a $150 alcohol fee and $100 to the victim restitution fund. He also was ordered to attend the DUI series at the Prevention Center and to give two days of community service. |
