Show CONFERENCE IN FOREST BUILDING Due to tho fact that District Forester For-ester E. A- Sherman did not return from Nevada until a late hour last evening, the conference between Uie interior and agricultural oillclals of the government scheduled to be held beie yesterday, was postponed until this morning. Mr. Sherman expected to return from his Ely. Nov., trip in the early port of the day yesterday, but he had I a Ions distance to make overland and it required more time than he anticipated. antici-pated. He intended coming home by way of Osceola, Nov., and the Old Horse silver cainp, Frisco, of southern south-ern Utah, but when he reached Snake Valley, a few miles east of Osceola, he concluded that the better way -would bo to po by Ely and from there by rail. This took time and, consequently conse-quently delayed him in his arrival In Ocden. The conference has been taken up today In earnest and It Is expected that, within the next three days, all the work mapped out by tho visiting federal officers can bo attended to. The business of the conference this forenoon consisted largely of looking over tho f-ltuatlon in the District No. i in a general way. This afternoon tlie members of the conference will begin to consider certain land claims from different parts of the district. The gentlemen from tho national cap-Hal cap-Hal state that their plans have been Fomewbat modified since their arrival in the western country that tho only matters to be considered in this conference con-ference will .bo those pertaiuing directly di-rectly to Forest District No. 1. |
