Foch, Joffre and Haig and Generals H P eta In, Diaz, Pershing and Gillian, fl I chief of staff of the Belgian army, fl 'were awarded the Distinguished Serv- ice medal today by President Wilson, H acting as commander-in-chief of the United States army. H ; General Pershing was directed by H Secretary Baker to act as President H 1 Wilson's representative in presenting H the medals to the military leaders of H the allies and to express to them the H high regard of the people of the Unit- H ed States and of the American army H for the distinguished and patriotic service they have rendered in the com- H mon H ( General Tasker H.
