Show THOSE WHO MINISTER TO WAR WORKERS. i . A delightful tribute is paid to the workers of the Y. W. c. A. in' the following fol-lowing sent the Standard: When the real history of this war shall be written, one of the brightest chapters will recount the service rendered ren-dered to mankind engaged in the struggle strug-gle by the thousands of God-loving men and women who did not fight, did not furnish the sinews of war. but rather ministered to the soldiers and their civilian cohorts. o If tho .war. did. not accomplish anything any-thing else than demonstrate the good that is in right-thinking men and women, it would not have boon in vain. Service is the greatest thing in the world today. He who serves in the cause of righteousness, on the side of the allies, is serving God. And this war, while it is not God's war. is a war in which God is being served, for the forces of righteousness are doing God's work in overcoming the forces of might, or the forces of evil. And It Is being demonstrated that right makes i might, for, whereas the Germans, with their superior training and equip- iiji-iii, uul iu uuiiuei nie worm, they have not conquered and will not. And the forces of right, undismayed by first defeats, knowing that God is on their side, are today the forces of might. It must be a source of satisfaction to all real Christians to contemplate the work that is being done in this war by tho Young Women's Christian Association. As-sociation. As important as the man with the gun or the women In the munitions mu-nitions factory who is making the stuff to fill the gun, is the Y. W. C. A. war worker. The man In the trenches and tho woman in the munitions plant form the backbone of the war machine, but tho worker, the one who goes about ministering to the worker, and allaying his pain and comforting his spirit, is its soul. In this work of doing good, this godly god-ly task, the horizon blue uniform of the war" workers of the s Young Women's Christian Association is seen everywhere, In tho United States and over there. With courage born of the knowledge that God is with them, is their protection, these war workers are in tho trenches, in the huts and hospitals, in the hostess houses and munitions works, ministering to those who need their ministration like the angels of mercy that they arc. |
