Show CANADIANS ARE BURNED TO DEATH FORT WORTH, Tex., Dec. 25. Second Sec-ond Lieutenant Reinbooth of Dury Saint Edmunds, England, who has been two months to finish training at Camp Taliaferro, and Cadet Manson, a Canadian who has been here about the same length of time training, were tho two men who were Incinerated Incin-erated in the airplane accident last evening at Hicks field. Their identity iden-tity was made known by royal. flying corps officers tonight. Each of the men had been a member of the royal flying corps for several months previous prev-ious to coming to Fort Worth. Although at first it was believed the men met death in midair, investigation investiga-tion proved they were burned to death after tney struck tho ground. Officers at Hicks field stated that the machine was -flying at a height of 200 feet when it mado a "side slip" and they could not regain their equilibrium. When the machine struck the ground the gasoline tank was torn open and ignited by the spark. The men were strapped in the machine and with their machine and clothing afire they were unable to remove tho straps and were burned while on the ground. If the drop had been higher the men would have had an opportunity of turning off the spark and regaining thoir balance, it was explained. |
