Frank Smith, formerly of Ogden was married on Christmas eve to Miss Reno Roe at Valparaiso, Ind., according accord-ing to word received in Ogden bv friends of tho young man. He is the son of C. E. Smith, and was a member of the class of 1914 of tho Ogden high school. He is attending the university of Valparaiso studying structural architecture ar-chitecture and will complete his four-year four-year course in another year. Miss Roe a homo is In Ellwood. Yielding to the auspicious occasion, soveral fraternal organizations of Og-' Og-' den last evening held Christmas parties, par-ties, some informal and some regularly regular-ly planned with a program. El Monte Commandery No. 2, Knights Templar, celebrated Christmas with a luncheon and program of speeches in tho Masonic Ma-sonic temple. "A Modern Christmas" was the subject sub-ject of a speech delivered by Mayor Abbot R. Heywood. Hew John W. Hyslop delivered a speech on "Jerusalem," "Jeru-salem," and Ttev. John E. Carver and J. W. Forristall spoke on "Knights in the Trenches." MEET ON FRIDAY. The Red Cross members of tho L. A. to the B. of R. T., will meet at the home of Mrs. A. Scherer, 823 Canyon road, Friday afternoon, December 28. The ladies are asked to take the canyon can-yon car which leaves Wall avenue and Twenty-fifth street at 11:30 o'clock. FIRST WARD W. C. T. U. The First ward W. C, T. U. met at the home of Miss Leota Kennedy last Wednesday. The meeting was conducted con-ducted by the new president, Mrs. Mary Drake, and the meeting was enjoyed en-joyed by all present. |
