Show URGES PWINGWESTOF I THE RiHD I TRACKS ; I In a formal report submitted to the city commissioners, Mayor A. R. Hoy-wood Hoy-wood urges the paving of tho road ly-ing ly-ing immediately west of tho railroad track, the construction of a crossing at Twenty -ninth street and the pur-chase pur-chase of all available property in that section by the Ogden terminal com- Tho report was made as a result of a protest filed with the city by J. T. Thomas and others residing in that vl-cinity vl-cinity to the effect that the Twenty-eighth Twenty-eighth street crossing is in dangerous condition. The petition asked for lm-mediate lm-mediate remedy and Mayor Heywood Investigated and compiled a formal report with his recommendations. According to the report, the execu-tive execu-tive states that inspection indicates that the conditions at Twenty-eighth are no less haznrdous than at Twenty-ninth. Twenty-ninth. Thi3 jt will permit easy access to Twenty- B eighth street and will afford a proper B roadway for the children residing be- yond the tracks practically all of whom attend tho Pingree school to reach the crossing in safety and com- para tive convenience. Although many families reside in that Vicinity, tho Mayor urges that the Terminal com- pany purchase such tracts as are for jH sale lor its terminal yards and thus relieve the probability of - becoming moro thickly settled and a graver menace.
