Show Chicago Qnotations i J CHICAGO, Dec. 26 Scarcity of offerings of-ferings brought a moderate advance in the corn market Demand, however, was only of a scattering sorL The market was of a decidedly holiday character. Opening prices which varied var-ied from unchanged figures to c higher with January $1,26 and May ?1.24 to $1.24 were followed by gradual gains all around. Strength developed in oats on account ac-count of general covering by shorts. The Impetus came from signs of a revival re-vival of shipping inquiry on the part of seaboard interests. Higher quotations on hogs gave firmness to provisions. Receipts of hogs were less numerous than had been expected. In the late trading provisions support sup-port became poor and the market sharply reacted. The fact that cold weather was expected ex-pected to continue for several davs and that railroad operations would be hampered gave an advantage to the corn bulls. Prices closed firm, c to 'jgc net higher, with January Sl.26 to $1.26 and May $1.24 1.25. CHICAGO, Dec. 26. Open. High. Lof. Close.
