Show Chinaman Qualifies For Entrance Into Fraternity MINNEAPOLIS. Minn, June 9 ' Among tho athletes at the University of Minnesota who have qualified for membership in Sigma Delta Psi, the national athletic fraternitv, is Yih Kum Kwong, a native of China, who. is a senior in the college of mines. I Kwong is one of a group of Chinese students who received their preliminary prelimin-ary training in the University of St. I John's, Shanghai, and later entered the University of Minnesota. All of I the easterners are good athletes, having hav-ing taken an active part in sports while at St. John's. Kwong played soccer while attending attend-ing college in Shanghai and was a broad jumper on the track team, leaping leap-ing close to twenty-two feet in his favorite event. Kwong, with Pan, Wong and Bau, formed a quartet of Oriental soccer stars on Coach W. K. Foster's university soccer team last fall. Kwong plays a forward position on the team. In add.ition to playing soccer Kwong plays a fast game of tennis, runs the 100-yard dash, the hurdles, the two-mile two-mile and high jumps. Previously Kwong had qualified for membership in the swim ming test and the gymnastic require ments. East Liverpool (Ohio) Retail Clerks union has secured an agreement with local merchants which closes stores every evening, except Saturdays, at 5 o'clock from July 5 to October 1.
