Show NURSES' HOME TO COST 30,000 I IS BEING ERECTED ON THE DEE HOSPITAL GROUNDS The construction of the Dee hospital nurses' home on the northeast corner of the hospital grounds was begun today. The home is to be of tho residence resi-dence style of architecture and plans were drawn by Architect "Eber F. Piers and tho general contract for Its construction was awarded to Vllladsen Brothers. The building will cover a ground space 3Sxl06 feet on tho northeast corner of the hospital grounds and will be three stories In height. The exterior will be constructed of high grade mottled brick. On the ground floor there will be two class rooms, a large lecture hall, recreation room, kitchen, laundry, store room, trunk room and large linen room. The second or main floor will contain con-tain two parlors, a writing room, accommodations ac-commodations for the head nurse and supervisors and a number of sleeping apartments for the nurses. The third floor will be entirely of Bleeping apartments for the nurses and students. stu-dents. A dancing floor will be n pleasing pleas-ing feature. All the rooms will be completely com-pletely equipped. Local Subscribers. The building is to cost 30,000 when completed and furnished, which sum has been in part subscribed j)y local public spirited citizens and the church in Salt Lake. The Ogden subscribers are: Mayor Hey wood $1,000; James Pingree $1,000; Dayid Eccles company com-pany $1,000; W. W. Wattls $1,000; M. S. Browning $1,000; Mrs. Thomas D. Dec $1,000 Dr. R. S. Joyce $500; Joseph Scowcroft $500; H. C. Bigelow $500; Chapin A. Day $500; Adam Patterson $500; and Fred J. Kiesel $500. Tho L. D. S. church in Salt Lake has authorized an expenditure covering cover-ing the balance of the $30,000. |
